The sad news continues. I send my thoughts and prayers to those affected by the earthquake and accident.
To see the first sunrise of the year 2024, I joined the train tour arranged by Sanriku Railway Company. The train ran along the Iwate Prefecture coastline and stopped at the best view point according to the time of sunrise, 6.51 am. Unfortunately, however, lots of clouds hid the sun. After the sun rose above the clouds, it was sunny and mild weather for this time of the year.
On the second of January, the sunrise was beautiful from my balcony.
Using leftover of Osechi (New Year meal), I made Ozouni (soup with rice cake) and ate it, then I went to the shrine near my flat and prayed. For the New Year’s visit, there were so many people in a queue.
