I made Caspian Sea Yogurt using its seed “FUJICCO” produces and sells.

The seed 3g and soy milk 500ml were mixed and left one night at a room temperature.

Caspian Sea Yogurt available at Japanese supermarket, which is made with cow milk, is thick and sticky.

The soy milk yogurt I made at home is mild and not so sticky but very tasty!

The other day I made soy yogurt with a portion of store-bought yogurt but this one, home made Caspian Sea yogurt is much better than that one.

According to the Japan Times article “Bacteria spreads across nation to create slimy, healthy treat“ published on Jan 7, 2003, Prof Yukio Yamori made Caspian Sea Yogurt popular in Japan. He studied the diets of local people in Georgia “because areas around the Caucasus Mountains were noted for having one of the highest life expectancies in the world” and he brought back Georgian yogurt, called Matsoni.

Caspian Sea yogurt, which is called so in Japan, has lactic acid bacteria (Lactococcus lactis subsp. cremoris FC) and does good for our body.
